How to make your leave go further

Public-holiday planning

  • Easter is usually one of the strongest periods because Good Friday and Easter Monday surround a weekend.
  • The early-May and spring bank holidays are useful for four- or nine-day breaks when paired with a small leave booking.
  • Christmas and Boxing Day can create high-efficiency year-end breaks, but calendars differ across England & Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Regional and calendar caveats

The planner combines weekends with supported public-holiday data and can use first-level regional calendars where the dataset provides them. Employer-specific, municipal and sector-specific days can still differ.
